CME SMART Program

Thanks to funding provided by the Government of Ontario, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has created the SMART Program to help small and medium-sized manufacturers in Ontario improve their productivity so they can compete more effectively in the global economy. Projects Eligible for SMART Funding: IT best practices; Lean manufacturing. Eligible Costs: Software and capital equipment. At this time of application deadline is May 31, 2009. We are hopeful Ontario will extend this program.

Yves Landry Foundation

In partnership with the Ontario Government, the Yves Landry Foundation is providing funding, up to $50,000 per project in the form of a grant, to foster training that will lead to advancements in innovation, and will support and develop Highly Skilled Personnel in any area that leads to innovation, within the manufacturing sector in Ontario. This can include training in the use of new software. Preliminary applications must be submitted by August 1, 2009 and full application by Sept 30, 2009. Clients can use the SMART grant for the software purchase and the Landry grant for the training

Quebec Grants

S.E.R.E.

Special program for support of firms at risk of slowing down economically. This special training program for support of firms covers 100% of all external trainers’ costs.

PRO MODE

Special program covering 40% of external consultants fees for the improvement of efficiency of your company and productivity of employees as well as providing funds for the marketing of your products, especially outside of Québec.

RENFORT

Working Capital and Investment Program for the Stabilization and Recovery of Successful Businesses. Under the Renfort program, you can obtain a loan guarantee or a loan.

EMPLOI QUÉBEC LOCAL TRAINING GRANTS

These grants are given out by the local offices of Emploi Québec. The projects range from $15,000 to $20,000 and are 50% covered. These are local grants that are obtained by calling the enterprise specialist in your business district.
